CONSTRUCTION LAW COMMITTEE
The Construction Law Committee typically meets the third Monday of every other month at 4:00 p.m. at the Local in Minneapolis. (www.the-local.com) . Our members have a wealth of experience in construction law, from construction defect litigation to liens to coverage issues, and our meetings cover a wide range of topics. The goal of the CLC is to promote and develop an understanding and appreciation of the wide variety of issues facing defense construction law lawyers in this dynamic and challenging area of law. Through our meetings, we share experience, insight and strategies for resolving disputes and helping our clients navigate complex construction law issues. Typically, our meeting involve discussions of recent developments in case law and legislation, issues encountered by members in their day-to-day practice, discussion of trends in the construction law community, and other practical information. We also have guest speakers - past guests include mediators and engineer witnesses.
CLC also provides great opportunities for seminar presentation, speaking and publishing experience. Our members present brown-bag lunch programs on construction-law related topics, contribute articles to "Minnesota Defense," the MDLA quarterly publication, and speak at the annual Minnesota CLE Construction Law Seminar and the bi-annual MDLA conferences.
