Rich Scattergood was elected president at the annual meeting on August 14, 2015. As President–Elect, Rich was the chair of the Trial Techniques Seminar in Duluth from August 13-15, 2015. Attendees of the seminar received a copy of “The President’s Manual”, a defense lawyers practitioner guide authored exclusively by past MDLA presidents. The conference enjoyed excellent presentations by highly regarded attorneys and judges. Before joining executive committee, Rich has twice served as the coeditor of the highly regarded MDLA Release Deskbook.
Rich is the managing attorney of Stich, Angell, Kreidler, Unke & Scattergood. He has tried 35 cases to a jury verdict, including several million dollar exposure cases. He has also defended over 1000 arbitrations. His practice focuses on the defense of all personal injury claims, with a particular emphasis on Dram Shop, premises liability, construction accidents and motor vehicle accidents. He is also an expert regarding Minnesota No-Fault Automobile Insurance issues.
