The Key Factors in ATR’s Decision to add the Twin Cities as a Judicial Hellhole

The CLE will cover the following topics:

  • The AG’s handling of the 3M groundwater contamination case;
  • Judge Dawson’s decision in the Kowalewski v. BNSF case;
  • Governor Dayton’s veto of several pro-defense reforms;
  • The Minnesota Supreme Court’s recent land-use decision in Ouradnik;
  • The Minnesota Supreme Court’s renewed rejection of Daubert.

Speaker Bio

Ike Messmore focuses his practice on complex litigation matters, including class action defense, appeals and advanced motions, and commercial and product liability defense. He defends manufacturers of products from many industries, including motor vehicles, chemical products, and industrial power-generation equipment.  An active member of the community, Ike serves on the Steering Committee of the Defense Research Institute’s Young Lawyers section. He also serves as Secretary on the Board of Directors for the Hennepin County Sheriff Foundation, as a member of the Board of Directors for the Friends of the Minnesota Orchestra, as a mentor with Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Great Twin Cities, and as a member of the firm’s Diversity and Inclusion Committee.
