The Minnesota Defense Lawyers Association Diversity Committee was recognized by the DRI – The Voice of the Defense Bar, a national organization of defense lawyers, for addressing issues of importance to the many different segments of our society, including issues of racial/ethnic diversity, gender diversity, age, sexual orientation, disability, religious and cultural beliefs. The Diversity Committee has examined how its members’ firms may achieve success in recruiting, employing and maintaining a diverse legal staff. The goals of the Committee are a work in progress, not only through meetings and publications to identify and consider issues of diversity, but most importantly through proactively seeking out members of the defense bar from diverse and minority backgrounds to join the Minnesota Defense Lawyers Association and the Committee in this cause.
