MDLA Women In the Law Breakfast

Session Description:

We are excited to announce the in-person return of one of MDLA’s most cherished traditions, the Women’s Breakfast! We will gather at Windows on Minnesota in the IDS Center, to hear Associate Justice of the Minnesota Supreme Court, Margaret H. Chutich, speak on her thoughts on the impact of Title IX, including what Title IX has meant to her and her family.

Justice Chutich will share her story of her 1975 Minnesota State High School League Girls’ State Tennis champion match including how she got there and how it played a roll in her future. She will speak on a combination of what Title IX personally meant to her, her family, and girls and women in general and the general legal impact of Title IX and Title IX litigation.

About the Speaker:

Margaret Helen Chutich

Nicole Starr Margaret Helen Chutich has served as an Associate Justice of the Minnesota Supreme Court since 2016, when she was appointed by Governor Mark Dayton. She previously served as a judge on the Minnesota Court of Appeals, and before that worked in the office of the Minnesota Attorney General and as an Assistant U.S. Attorney for the District of Minnesota. In 2008, she was appointed assistant dean of the Humphrey School of Public Affairs at the University of Minnesota.
