Dave Bateson
Dave Bateson is an attorney and consultant. He has an active litigation practice with the Minneapolis law firm of Lind Jensen Sullivan & Peterson where he practices in the areas of Workers Compensation, Commercial Litigation and Insurance Defense. He also has a coaching and consulting practice with Bateson Consulting LLC, working with lawyers and law firms on professional development.

Dave previously served as Assistant Dean for Student Affairs at the University of St. Thomas School of Law and Director of the award-winning Mentor Externship Program at the School of Law. He is a frequent national speaker on mentor relationships, and mentoring in the legal profession. Dave has a Certificate in Business Communications from the University of St. Thomas Opus College of Business. He received his Juris Doctorate from the University of Minnesota Law School, 2000, cum laude, and a Bachelor of Arts from the University of St. Thomas, summa cum laude.



Rachel Beauchamp
Rachel Beauchamp is a member of Cousineau McGuire Chartered’s civil litigation practice where she handles transportation and commercial trucking cases, construction defect, and personal injury defense cases.


Steve Beseke
Steve Beseke is a world-class and worldwide life resiliency/inspirational presenter and writer. His presentations and programming with corporations and individuals focus on increasing employee/executive/leadership performance, and the bottom-line return on investment value that career and life resiliency has in the workplace and life.

Steve, who was awarded an honorary title/degree of Doctor of Life Resiliency in Europe, highlights resilient strategies and programming to overcome life and work obstacles in our increasingly face-paced world. He has worked with government organizations, for-profit companies, non-profit organizations, colleges, schools, disability groups, associations, career groups and others.

He also presents highly-regarded conversations on school/work bullying. Specifically, in addition to his talks, he has developed an entire curriculum on anti-bullying in schools – through extensive research and experience being severely bullied in school related to his lifelong physical disability known as Cerebral Palsy.

Additionally, he has written more than 130 articles and many e-books on all types of resiliency we face everyday at work and life. Steve’s writing has appeared in newspapers, e-journals and on his award-nominated www.resiliencyfirst.com web site, which has been read by millions of individuals worldwide. His site has been ranked as one of the top four personal branding sites in the U.S. He also has appeared on several national radio talk shows speaking on everything resilient in our work and lives.

His previous corporate life has involved being a corporate communications executive for nearly 30 years with Fortune 500 companies like Medtronic, and other industry leaders, such as Opus Corporation and the National Marrow Donor Program.

Steve has a bachelor’s degree in Journalism/Political Science from the University of St. Thomas. He has been married for nearly 30 years, and lives with his wife and daughter in Eagan, MN.



Amber Garry
Amber Garry is an associate with Lind, Jensen, Sullivan & Peterson, P.A. She focuses her practice on representing businesses and individuals against professional liability and malpractice claims, and advising hospitals and clinics on compliance with federal and state privacy laws. Amber also represents healthcare providers in their dealings with professional licensing boards. Amber has successful pre-trial dispositive motion practice experience and jury trial experience. Amber graduated summa cum laude from Hamline University School of Law, where she received the M. Arnold Lyons Award for the Highest Academic Achievement in the Graduating Class. During law school Amber served as an extern for the Honorable Donovan Frank of the United States District Court of Minnesota.


Lisa Griebel is a founding partner of Terhaar, Archibald, Pfefferle & Griebel, LLP, an AV-rated, nationally recognized law firm that has been providing ambitious, creative and cost- effective legal solutions to clients since 1998. As an experienced and accomplished mediator, Ms. Griebel’s alternative dispute resolution practice has included the resolution of multi-party, complex, high exposure property damage, commercial, and personal injury claims. She is a qualified ADR neutral for the State of Minnesota pursuant to General Rules of Practice, Rule 114.12. Her experience as a successful mediator includes personal injury, professional negligence, insurance coverage and property/construction actions, among others. She is frequently asked to mediate disputes for the City of Minneapolis’ Dept. of Civil Rights and Department of Neighborhood and Community Relations. She has gained a reputation as having the experience and demeanor capable of handling cases that are difficult and sensitive, whether because of the involved parties or complicated legal issues.


Jason M. Hill
Jason M. Hill is a partner at Johnson & Lindberg, P.A. Jason was admitted to the Minnesota Bar in 1999 and his practice focuses on civil rights litigation, defending primarily Minnesota counties and serving as outside panel counsel for the Ramsey County Attorney’s Office. Jason also represents clients in trust and probate, motor vehicle, premises, and sports and recreation litigation. He serves as the chair of the MDLA Governmental Liability Committee and a member of the Board of Directors. He is also a member of DRI’s Governmental Liability and Retail and Hospitality Committees.


Roger Kramer
Roger Kramer is an accomplished mediator and arbitrator for a wide range of civil litigation matters. Areas of expertise include insurance law, personal injury, business and commercial law, construction defect claims, products liability, general liability and professional liability disputes. Laura Moehrle
Laura Moehrle was born and raised in St. Cloud, Minnesota. She is a 2002 graduate of the University of St. Thomas, where she received undergraduate degrees in Finance, Economics and Legal Studies, and a 2005 graduate the University of Minnesota Law School. She joined Quinlivan & Hughes, PA in 2005.


Matthew Moehrle
Matthew Moehrle primarily handles appeals and complex litigation matters. He is licensed to practice in Minnesota, North Dakota and Wisconsin. Matthew has been a dedicated member of Rajkowski Hansmeier since graduating law school. Having spent his entire career with a general practice firm made up of some of the region's top litigation attorneys, Matthew has gained valuable experience in his handling of a wide variety of appeals. His appellate experience includes everything from dog bites, to contractual disputes, to assumption of the risk, to state and federal organic farming regulations, and beyond. He has successfully briefed and argued numerous cases to Minnesota's appellate courts, including to the Minnesota Supreme Court. Matthew also has experience with submissions to the United States Supreme Court in the Petition for Writ of Certiorari stage.


Kate Mortensen
Kate Mortensen is a Senior Discovery Consultant with Xact Data Discovery. A former practicing attorney, Kate has twelve years of litigation experience. During Kate's practice, she handled every aspect of litigation through discovery to trial. Kate has broad litigation experience, having practiced in areas including construction, personal injury, product liability and professional liability. As a Senior Discovery Consultant, Kate consults with law firms and corporate legal departments to provide substantive eDiscovery advice and solutions. Kate is also a frequent speaker and presenter of CLEs focused on eDiscovery Best Practices.


Rich Scattergood
Rich Scattergood has been defending personal injury lawsuits since 1994. He has obtained defense verdicts in a broad range of cases including wrongful death, traumatic brain injury, dram shop, tractor-trailer, insurance coverage, premises liability and car accidents in courtrooms all over Minnesota. Mr. Scattergood is on the Board of Directors of the Minnesota Defense Lawyers Association, and also serves as co-editor of the MDLA Release Deskbook. He frequently lectures on dram shop, automobile insurance and personal injury matters. Mr. Scattergood joined Stich, Angell in May 2007, after practicing at Rider Bennett for 13 years, where he was a Partner and Chair of the Firm’s Defense Practice Group.
